Team Tunak Sinj
At the young age of 18, Slaven signed up in 1958 with team Tunak Sinj; a popular team in the Croatian football circuit. Although he did not make landmark records at this time, the athlete grew as both a player and a notable teammate.
Joining GNK Dinamo Zagreb
A year later, Slaven switched to team Dinamo Zagreb in 1959. Throughout his entire stay from 1959 to 1969, Zambata made 393 appearances and scored a whopping 267 goals. This made him the 8th most notable goal scorer in Dinamo's long outstanding history.
KSV Waregem switch
After a decade's worth of phenomenal goal scoring, Slaven Zambata switched to play with KSV Waregem for two seasons. During this time, he made 33 appearances and 16 goals.
Crossing Club and back to Dinamo
For one brief season, Slaven made a switch to the Crossing Club; followed by another run-in with team Dinamo Zagreb from 1972 to 1973. Combining the numbers with each team, Slaven made 26 appearances and three goals in the remainder of his career before retiring.
Yugoslavian forwards who played football in the 1960s all know the name of Slaven Zambata; he stood the highest ground with a perseverance and stamina like no other. With 31 caps and 21 goals for Yugoslavia, he made a tremendous name for himself.
